Join the Academy of Model Aeronautics in celebrating model aviation for the sixth annual National Model Aviation Day, August 11, 2018.
National Model Aviation Day was created to encourage clubs to celebrate the hobby and share it with the public. Bayou City Flyers will be hosting discovery flight for youth entering 5th to 12th grade. These 10-minute flights will be done at The Dick Scobey Memorial RC Field in George Bush Park, 8:00 A.M. to 11:45 AM. There will be displays and flight demonstrations will be done throughout the morning also.

Each person signed up will get to fly a RC plane on a buddy box with an instructor. We are limiting the discovery flights to the 1st 40 youth to sign up. Food and drinks will be provided. For more information or to sign up you’re your or group, please email our coordinator for this event.
The AMA is devoted to inspiring the young and young-at-heart to pursue a hobby that will inspire creativity and advanced learning using hands-on applications. The purposes of the Foundation will be to fundraise and make grants to AMA to support its charitable and educational programs and services.
